Inverness) 1989 CGL Baron First Division Scottish Conference 2-1-1 Team Notes: Founded in October 1986, and instrumental in the setting up of the Thistle League in 1987. Played between 1987 and 1989 in a variety of leagues. Re-emerged in the NGA in 2000 in a friendly match with Fort William. One of the best names in the game. NEW BOLTON BRAVES Based: Horwich R.M.I. Football Ground, Bolton 1986 Budweiser League Atlantic Division 1 North 2-8-0 Team Notes: Competed in the Budweiser League in 1986, and finished with a 2-8 record. NEW FOREST GLADIATORS Based: Totton, Hampshire Team Notes: Un-affiliated youth two touch side who played in 1986. Played the Bournemouth Bengals (aka Jnr Bobcats) in a friendly losing 77-24. Some of the Gladiator players later joined the Bengals. Players who went on to play kitted included Paul Biscombe and Jon Wyse. Club) Senior Kitted 1991 BNGL Premier Division North Eastern Conference 0-8-0 Youth Two Touch 1991 JGL Northern Conference 1-4-1 Junior Flag 1995 BYAFA Northern Conference 1-5-0 Team Notes: First played in AAFC in 1986, and progressed to their best year in 1990, when they narrowly missed the playoffs in the BNGL First Division. Folded after a tough year in BNGL Premier Division in 1991. Youth team formed from the Bingham Bandits in 1988. Quote from one of their ex-Youth team players, "They had the smallest black shirts ever which must have contributed to the 0-8 season in 88. By 89 (when I joined - as did six or so from Grantham who boosted the squad) we set the league on fire - but mainly through our bright orange shirts which we picked cos everyone else seemed to have black,red, white etc. We actually voted for Tampa Bay orange, but they didnt have that. Have yet to make the playoffs despite having winning records between 1995 and 2000. Made playoffs in 2003 but were dumped out at the first stage by Staffordshire. NEWCASTLE SCHOLARS Based: Newcastle University 1986/1987 BCAFL Scottish Conference 4-1-1* Team Notes: Newcastle University team who played in the BCAFL between 1986 and 1990. Reached the first College Bowl in 1987, where they lost to the Hull Sharks 23-6. Changed their name to the Mariners in 1990. NEWCASTLE SENATORS Based: Northern Rugby Club Team Notes: The team that are now known as the Gateshead Senators. In 1987 merged with Tyneside Trojans after originally being part of the split from the Trojans. Won the 1986 Budweiser League Atlantic Division 1 North Conference with a 10-0 record. Won great year in 1989, when they won their conference but fell at the first hurdle in the playoffs. Crawley Raiders Junior Two Touch 1989 BYAFA Micro League Anglian Conference 6-0-0* Lost national final 6-0 against Heathrow Jets. Team notes: Have a case for being the best Youth Two Touch side of all-time in the UK. Progressed from being Junior Two Touch runners-up in 1989, to winning two national championships in 1990 and 1991. The first one a stunning 29-0 demolition of the Waldron Warriors. Club ran into difficulties in 1989, and they became known as the Gwent Mustangs in 1990. Reached the semi-finals in 1991, losing 32-0 to the Heathrow Jets. Formed out of the Belfast Bltizers. Played in the BNGL between 1990 and 1993, making the playoffs in the last three seasons there, and winning their conference in 1993. Entered the BAFA in 1994, but folded at the end of that season. NORTH SEA TIGERS Based: Great Yarmouth 1989 JAFL East Anglian Conference 3-7-0 Team notes: Played in the JAFL Youth Two Touch League between 1988 and 1989. Competed in the tough East Anglian conference, and failed to make it out of there and into the playoffs in their two seasons. Based: ? NORTHWESTERN REDSKINS Based: Victoria Park, Warrington 1996 JGL Youth Flag League Northern Conference record unknown Team notes: Played in the JGL Youth Flag League between 1995 and 1996. In their first season, reached the national final after a perfect 6-0-0 regular season. Lost final 19-14 to the Plymouth Commodores. NORTH YORKSHIRE HAWKS Based: Ryedale Stadium (now known as the
Huntington Stadium), York 1993 BNGL National Division Northern Conference 8-2-0* Team notes: Also known as the Harrogate Hawks. They adopted this name for two seasons whilst in the BNGL between 1992 and 1993. Made playoffs on both occasions. In 1993, lost out in the semi-finals to Bedford 12-6. NORWICH DEMONS Based: Eaton Park, Norwich 1989 JAFL East Anglian Conference 7-2-1* Team notes: Youth Two Touch side of the senior Norwich Devils team. 2002 BYAFA English Northern Conference 0-6-0 Team notes: Began in January 1984. Also have a flourishing Youth kitted side, that in 2000 won the 3rd/4th place playoff against the Southern Sundevils. Posted a 5-1-0 record in 2001, and missed out on a semi-final spot by points difference. Senior side reached with a 7-0-1 regular season record in 2001, and reached the Div.2 Bowl game where they lost to rivals Ipswich. Went one step better in 2002, finishing the season with a perfect 12-0-0 record and winning the BSL Division Two title. Had a very tough first season in Division One has they did not win a game.

Chester-le-Street 1997 BSL Division Two Northern Conference 0-10-0 Team notes: Previously known as the Washington Presidents. Played for three seasons in the BAFA and BSL between 1995 and 1997. Disastrous 1997 season put paid to the club, and they folded soon after. NORTH HERTS RAIDERS Based: ? 1986 BAFL Anglo Conference Anglian Conference 1-9-0 Team notes: Competed in the early days of Britball, with very little success. Later to become the Herts Phantoms. NORTH KENT PATRIOTS Based: Barnehurst/Northumberland Heath, Kent 1993 BNGL First Division South East Conference 2-8-0 Team notes: Played for one season in the BNGL in 1993. Finished with a 2-8-0 record. NORTH NOTTS WILDCATS Based: Hallcroft School, Doncaster (moved to Doncaster Rugby Club) Team notes: Youth side from Doncaster, who played friendlies between 1990 and 1993. Only know result was a 22-0 reverse against the Birmingham Bulls Jnrs in September 1992. Became known as the Doncaster Wildcats. Northern Conference 9-0-1* 1996 BYAFA Northern Division 3-2-0 Team notes: Have been playing since 1992, and grew stronger with the demise of the Nottingham Hoods. Have won 3 conference championships over the years. Possessed a Youth Kitted side between 1994 and 1996. Relegated in 2001 from the Division One, but returned strong in 2002 reaching the semi-finals in division two. In 2003, went one step further as they went undefeated in the regular season, and got to the final losing 32-15 to the Bristol Aztecs. NOTTINGHAM CAESARS Based: ?, Nottingham Youth Two Touch 1989 JAFL West Midlands Conference 3-5-0 Team Notes: Separate organisation to the senior kitted Caesars, who played in 1988 and 1989 in the JAFL. NOTTINGHAM CRUSADERS Based: Lace Webb Sports Ground, Nottingham Senior Kitted 1993 BNGL Division One Northern Conference 6-4-0 Passball 1993 NPL Northern Conference 4th Team notes: Previously known as the South Notts Crusaders in 1987. Also known simply as The Crusaders. Over the years amalgamated Notts Phoenix and Charnwood Beacons. Winning records in each of their 4 seasons in the BNGL. Picked up a number of ex-Nottingham Hoods players. Won a conference championship in 1990, but didnt make any impact in playoffs. Became Trent Valley Warriors in 1994. NOTTINGHAM OUTLAWS Based: ?, Nottingham Youth Two Touch 1988 JAFL North East Conference 2-6-0 Team Notes: Played in 1988 and 1989 in the JAFL. Not associated with the BCAFL side of the same name. Got going by purchasing kit from the disbanded BAFA team, the Bedford Bombardiers. Finally made the playoffs in 2003, in their 7th season. NOTTINGHAM/BIRMINGHAM YOUTH Based: ? 1998 BYAFA Northern Conference 0-5-0 Team Notes: Result of a merger of the Birmingham Bulls Youth and Nottingham Caesars Youth teams, in an attempt to challenge for honours. Almost worked as in 1997 reached the semi-finals. Had poor season in 1998, and the arrangement ended then. NOTTS PHOENIX Based: Manor Sports Complex, Mansfield 1990 BNGL First Division North East Conference 0-10-0 Team Notes: Played in the BNGL in 1990, and lost every game.
