Team Notes: Highly successful side from Bedford who
competed for five years and never had a losing record, albeit they never played at the
highest level. Made playoffs in 4 out of those 5 years. Their playoff record was
disappointing compared to their regular season record. They lost two Bowl games in 1993
(to Bournemouth) and 1994 to their local rivals the Milton Keynes Bucks. Previous player
Bob Flickinger ended up playing for Scotland Claymores and then to the Kansas City Chiefs.
WR John Mensah went to Rutgers in 1993 to try to make the team as a walk-on. Mensah began
with the Newmarket Hornets joining Bedford in 1993. Previously known as the Bedford Stags. Merged with the Northants Storm in 1995 to
become the Storm Bombardiers
